Introducing durable tasks

The harness for agents that act. Every act gated. Every act on the record.

Introducing durable tasks

Work that takes minutes or days, like a card replacement or a loan application, now runs as a task: accepted before it starts, reported stage by stage, and still there when the customer comes back.

Everything an agent needs to act on your platform. Verbdeck brings the registry, the gate, the record and the certification. Your platform keeps its API, and the model runs on your own account.

One registry entry. Everything else is derived.

what your API returned

{ "status": "scheduled",

Scheduled. 400 EUR goes to Maria on October 4, then on the 4th of each month.

Every figure in the reply has a source in the result.

Where a talking assistant says “I cannot”, a verb begins. Talking agents are a commodity. Acting agents stall at pilots, because nobody can trust one unsupervised.

“Transfer 400 to Maria on the 4th of each month, from the main account. The first one goes out in October. Confirm?”
VThe same request, on VerbdeckCollected in the talk, confirmed once, on the record

The model never holds the keys. It proposes from a closed set of commands. Code checks every proposal, the server holds the gate and the credentials, and your API does the work.

How a turn runs. Reads run free. Acts run through the gate. The record sees all of it.

  • A questionAnswered from reads
  • A request to actConfirm, then act
  • A pasted “yes”Refused
  • Needs a personHanded to your team

Journeys string verbs into one piece of work. Each act still passes its own gate, a step already done is skipped, and a journey stopped halfway picks up where it left off.

Credentials stay on the server. A short-lived grant binds the agent, the store, the user and the conversation, and names the verbs it may run.

Durable tasks outlive the turn. A stage that needs approval waits for one, and a worker reporting progress can never grant it.

The six laws. The promises the engine never breaks, in the open.

  • 01

    One conversation, one brain.

The whole conversation reaches the model at once. Nothing is lost between stages.

  • 02

The model proposes, the code disposes.

The model picks from a closed set of commands. Your code validates and runs them.

  • 03

    One gate, on the server.

A confirmation is verified by the server against the summary it issued. Nothing said in the chat can stand in for it.

  • 04

    Truth from results.

A reply about an act is rendered from what happened, never written from memory.

  • 05

    Your keys, your model.

Bring any vendor. We ship the harness, never inference.

  • 06

    Judged on outcomes.

Every behavior is certified against what happened in the world before it is supported. Status is a passing test, never an opinion.

  2. Decide first, write second

Before it answers, the agent runs the reads a question needs, so every figure it gives traces to a result.

  3. Faster turns, fewer tokens

  4. Intent routing

A fast classifier matches each message to the verbs it is about, before the model reads it.

Bring your keys and your verbs. We ship the harness, never the model.

Verbdeck connects to your platform’s own API. You declare the verbs, bring the model keys, and keep the credentials on your side. Access is by invitation.
